Share your web game
Host a three.js or Phaser game on Ryuo under a name you pick and share a link anyone can play in their browser, update or rename it, unpublish it, and the limits that apply.
When your game is a web game (three.js or Phaser), Ryuo can host it for you. You get a link to a page on ryuo.ai where anyone can play it in their browser, with no download and no account. Sharing is free for anyone signed in to a Ryuo account.
Share a game
- Open your web game in Ryuo Studio and switch to its engine tab.
- Choose Share in the tab's header. If you're signed out, the dialog asks you to sign in first.
- Give the game a title. You can add a short description and a name to credit, such as yours or your studio's.
- Check the game's Name. It is the game's address: a game named
star-hopperplays atstar-hopper.ryuo.cloud, and its page isryuo.ai/play/star-hopper. Ryuo suggests one from your game's title, and you can change it. - Choose who can find it:
- Unlisted: only people you give the link to. Search engines don't list it.
- Public: anyone, and search engines may list its page.
- Choose Publish. Ryuo builds the game, uploads it and shows your link.
Choosing a name
A name is 3 to 40 characters: lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or digit. As you type, the dialog checks whether the name is free. If another game already has it, the dialog suggests a free one, such as star-hopper-2, which you can use with one click. Some names, such as www, admin or names starting with ryuo-, are reserved for Ryuo.
Use Copy link to share it, or Open to play it yourself. The page shows your game with its title, the name you credited and a Made with Ryuo label. Links shared in chat apps and social networks show a picture of your game, which Ryuo takes from its first few seconds.
Update or take it down
- Update builds and uploads the game again and puts the new version at the same link. If nothing changed in the build, it only saves the new title, description or visibility.
- To rename the game, change its Name and choose Update (or Publish while it's offline). The dialog warns you first. The game moves to the new address, and the old link stops working. Players' saved progress (such as save games and settings their browser keeps) stays with the old address, so it doesn't carry over. The old name becomes free for any game to take.
- Unpublish takes the game offline right away. The link stays yours: publish again to bring it back at the same address.
- Delete link, after unpublishing, removes the game for good, and its name becomes free for any game to take. Sharing it again lets you pick a name again.
You can close the dialog while a game uploads; the Share button shows Sharing… until it finishes, and reopening the dialog shows the progress and a Cancel button.
Limits
- A game can be up to 200 MB, with up to 2,000 files and up to 100 MB in one file.
- Ryuo hosts web pages, scripts, styles, JSON, WebAssembly, 3D models (such as glTF, GLB and OBJ), textures (including KTX2 and Basis), images, audio, video, fonts and common level formats. A build with any other kind of file can't be shared; the dialog names the file.
- Each account can have up to 20 shared games at once, and can publish up to 20 times an hour.
Safety
Your game runs on its own website, separate from ryuo.ai, so it can't see anyone's Ryuo account, and other games can't see its saved data. Players can report a game from its page. Ryuo reviews reports and takes down games that break the terms; a game that was taken down can't be published or renamed again, and its name stays unavailable.
